I founded the The Baltimore Kissa Society in the spring of 2016 in order to connect jazz heads and vinyl junkies in Baltimore through great music. The BKS hosts monthly listening parties where audiences can listen to vinyl recordings of jazz music with other like-minded audiophiles in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. BKS also publishes a weekly blog about album art on their website.
The Society is based on the Japanese jazz kissa—a small establishment with a coffee shop atmosphere, tasty beer, plenty of jazz records for perusal and an open turntable.
